

I’ve tried many times to enjoy Banks’ Vampire Hunter series, but never could. McCray is competent, but the story lacks originality.

However, the tantalizing short story is hampered by a sketchy heroine. She explores various intriguing themes in Minotaur in Stone and describes everything with beautiful imagery. Liu is an author that constantly almost wows me.
